What is it?
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of optimizing a company’s online content so that a search engine shows the company’s products or services as a top result for a search by specific keywords. Search engines like Google and Bing closely guard the details of their algorithm but they use many, many factors to determine the ranking of a website in search results. Further, SEO changes all the time because the algorithms are constantly being tweaked by search engine companies.
Why is it Important?
For companies, most of ‘the rules’ are simply just SEO decisions based on educated guesses or from looking at correlating search data trends. In other words, SEO is a complicated, constant, and ongoing effort to remain high in the search rankings.
How Do We Use It to Benefit You?
As a general rule, three categories stand out from the rest in SEO.
- First, we produce great content. This is hard work and time-consuming but great results will always come from great effort.
- Second, use Hypertext Markup Language (HTML.) SEO relies heavily on information found in the website coding itself. Properly tagged and coded text and image is paramount when it comes to making sure that all information is accessible to all people.
- Third, design great site architecture (front- and back-end.) The better the website architecture, the better the experience for the user when he or she navigates a page. SEO focuses on things like fast loading times, a safe connection, and a mobile-friendly design.
