The Design the Planet brand marketing team is pleased and excited to have been chosen by this leading-edge company to develop their online look and feel and brand experience. Design the Planet is proud to work with Pat O’Brien’s as they celebrate their 75th Anniversary. Design the Planet has been helping the legendary bar update its image and announce their huge block party celebration on Wednesday, December 3, 2008. The Bucktown Allstars will play outside starting at 7:30pm and drinks specials will run all night. You can also grab a special silver anniversary glass. All profit from the glass sales will go to the 8th district New Orleans Police Department and New Orleans Fire Department to buy some much needed equipment!

The semi-annual Greater New Orleans Multi-Family Report was recently printed. The report is a joint effort between three long-time Design the Planet clients: Larry Schedler & Associates, Madderra & Cazalot, and Multi-Family Advisory Group. The Multi-Family Report is a collection of graphs, charts and data about the New Orleans area apartment industry including recent sales, new construction, ongoing construction and trends in the apartment industry.

The City of Westwego inaugurated new mayor Johnny Shaddinger. Thank you to interim mayor Daniel P. Alario and his staff for making the new Westwego website such a priority.

Design the Planet is proud to announce numerous clients recently earning the ABC Bayou Excellence in Construction Award including: Barriere Construction, Cycle Construction, Durr Construction, Landis Construction, Gibbs Construction and our newest client Voelkel McWiIliams Construction. We teamed up with Normal H. Voelkel Construction on the St. Alphonus Church Reconstruction Project which also won an ABC Excellence in Construction award. Voelkel McWilliams won a gold award for their Abita Beer New Construction Project and Barriere Construction won a gold award for the Highway 23 Repaving Project in Plaquemines Parish with Design the Planet prepared award submissions.
Barriere Construction's Hwy. 23 project also won the South Central Construction award and the Greater New Orleans Business Roundtable Construction Award!

Design the Planet was proud to help Scandinavia Furniture have one of their best attended Warehouse Sales in recent years. The Warehouse Sale mini-campaign included direct mail postcards, newspaper ads, email announcements and reminders and as well as landing pages for the event. In addition, the recent Labor Day sale promotion and Art Show promotion used similar advertising strategies; both with great attendance.

Barriere Construction's South Shore Asphalt Division captured a 2008 Award of Excellence from McGraw Hill/South Central Construction Magazine. Perryn worked with Jim Breland, an estimator and project manager with Barriere, to capture the qualities of the project and to develop a great award entry. Congratulations to Barriere Construction for another great job!

The Design the Planet team returns after evacuating from Hurricane Gustav. After a week of waiting, we're back designing and coding as usual. We hope everyone is doing well and made it home safely.

A little after the 3rd year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, the Design the Planet team evacuates again for Hurricane Gustav. With DtP-ers in Baton Rouge, LA, Bossier City, LA, Pensecola, FL, Austin, TX, Orange Beach, AL and Chattanooga, TN - keeping in touch through RallyPoint Online made communication much more efficient.

Wow! We hope you didn't miss the party at the Audubon Zoo's Activity Pavillion. On 08/08/08 Design The Planet recognized and thanked their raving fans and loyal followers for 10 FANTASTIC YEARS of BUSINESS SUCCESS. We rocked to the grooves of Fernando Braxton and the Earth Movers, we gorged ourselves on Portobellos Catering, and imbibed from the Wild Branding Cocktail Bar. We said goodbye to old friends who have left our team over the years, and welcomed the exciting and talented newest members. So...once again, THANK YOU ALL for sticking with us through the thick and thin. Green Corridor, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving the wetlands and protecting Louisiana from future hurricanes, sets up a display at Earth Day Fest at the Audubon Zoo. Perryn and Ryan volunteered their time to discuss Green Corridor's plans to bring hydro-electric power to the US as a resource to help funding its save-the-wetlands initiatives.

Design the Planet starts its 10th year in business in 2008. As a part of our celebration we have updated the Design the Planet brand and all the materials associated with it. Our new website is a true collaboration between all the members of the Design the Planet team. The updated brand and web site have been in development for eight months.
